The Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MoEHE) concluded, at its headquarters, the activities of the 4th School Theater Festival 2024. HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid AlKhater honoured the winning students in the festival, along with the members of the judging committee and the reading of texts, in the presence of a number of MoEHE senior officials, school principals, and parents.In her speech during the closing ceremony, Assistant Undersecretary for Educational Affairs at the MoEHE Maha al-Ruwaili stressed the importance of the festival in promoting theatrical arts as an essential part of the educational process, which contributes to developing and refining students’ talents.She indicated that school theatre is an exceptional space that enables students to express their ideas and embody their creativity, enhancing the values of teamwork and the spirit of co-operation. She considered that theatrical arts are not just shows held on stage, but rather a means to enhance self-confidence, develop communication skills, and encourage creative and critical thinking, which contributes to building a generation capable of participating effectively in the sustainable development process, which the State of Qatar aspires to. She voiced her hope that this festival will be a station for creativity and excellence and that school theatre will remain an open space through which students express their ideas and ambitions.The closing ceremony of the festival featured a theatrical performance entitled Nour’s beautiful dream, presented by students of Qatar Primary School for Girls, in addition to presenting video clips of the theatrical performances, in which students from 11 schools participated.A song entitled our heads are high, written by Al-Jawhara al-Mutawa and music by teacher Maha Hassan was also played during the closing ceremony.
