Qatar, represented by the Ministry of Transport (MoT), has chaired the meetings of the 25th Session of the Committee on Transport and Logistics of the UN Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia (ESCWA) in Jordan's capital Amman.
The session, according to a statement from MoT, was attended by representatives of Arab transportation ministries, the Arab League, the World Bank and transportation and logistics organisations.
The meetings discussed the recommendations reported by the previous session to the ESCWA’s Executive Secretariate and the latest regional developments with respect to transportation and logistics.
It also discussed enhancing cybersecurity in the transportation industry, transportation and food security key issues, and the impact of the crisis in the Red Sea on the Arab economies.
The session was also briefed on the ongoing negotiations regarding the negotiable cargo document, which is the first world document that covers international ground transportation, aiming to reach a uniform Arab stand.
The meetings were chaired by MoT’s Land Transport Licensing Department director Hamad Ali al-Marri.
