HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani met in Cairo Wednesday with Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Dr Badr Abdel Aati. During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations and ways to support and enhance them, as well as expanding trade exchange and co-operation to serve the aspirations of both nations. They also discussed the latest developments in Gaza and the occupied Palestinian territories, particularly the facilitation of humanitarian and relief aid to all areas of the Gaza Strip without obstacles, in addition to the situation in Lebanon and several topics of mutual interest.During the meeting, HE the PM welcomed the ceasefire agreement in Lebanon, expressing hope that it would lead to a similar agreement to end the ongoing war in Gaza and the Israeli attacks on the occupied West Bank. He also commended the strategic role played by Egypt in promoting security and peace in the region through its efforts to resolve regional issues, foremost among them the Palestinian cause.
