HE the Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed AlKhater has held two fruitful meetings with two regional officials in the field of education, on the sidelines of the 19th Conference of Ministers of Higher Education and Scientific Research in the Arab World, held in the UAE capital, Abu Dhabi.
HE the Minister met with Dr Abdulrahman al-Mudaris, Director-General of the Unesco Regional Centre for Quality and Excellence in Education, where they discussed ways to enhance higher education standards in the Arabian Gulf region, especially in Qatar, with a focus on developing educational programmes in line with the skills required for future professions.
She also met with Dr Abdulrahman bin Mohammed al-Asimi, Director-General of the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States, where educational issues of interest to the Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) countries were discussed, in addition to ways to enhance educational co-operation and integration among member states. The meetings represented an important step towards unifying regional efforts to develop education and achieve sustainable development goals in the region.
