Arab Educational Training Center for Gulf States is participating in the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) International Forum under the theme, "Renewing the Social Contract for Education."
The Forum , which is being held over three days in Suwon, South Korea, highlights the importance of international cooperation in financing education to achieve equality and innovation in educational systems.
On the sidelines of the Forum, Director of the Center Dr. Fatma Al Maadheed met with Assistant Director-General for Education at UNESCO Stefania Giannini, Secretary General of the Korean National Commission for UNESCO Professor Kyung-Koo Han, Professor and Researcher at Seoul National University Daehyun Kim, and a number of prominent academic figures in the field of education. They had fruitful discussions on future visions for developing education and enhancing cooperation between international institutions in this regard.
As part of her participation in the Forum, Dr. Al Ma'adheed visited a Korean middle school on Tuesday to gain firsthand insight into the schools' experience and outstanding educational practices in Korea.
The Arab Educational Training Center for Gulf States, based in Doha, is a specialized body under the Arab Bureau of Education for the Gulf States. It was established to contribute to the training of educational leaders in the ministries of education of member countries, based on high scientific and methodological standards.
