HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim al-Thani received Friday a phone call from Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Immigration and Egyptian Expatriates Affairs Dr Badr Abdel Aati. Discussions during the call dealt with co-operation relations between the two countries and means to support and develop them, in addition to the latest developments in the Gaza Strip and the occupied Palestinian territories; the latest developments in Syria; and a host of topics of common interest.

HE Sheikh Mohammed stressed during the call that Qatar is following with great concern the recent developments in Syria, and stresses the need to spare civilians any consequences of this conflict.

He reiterated Qatar’s clear position calling on all parties to dialogue and reach an understanding to end the Syrian crisis in accordance with international legitimacy resolutions and Security Council Resolution 2245, in a way that achieves the aspirations of the Syrian people and preserves the unity, sovereignty and independence of their country.
