Russia, Turkiye and Iran agree on need to stop hostilities in Syria: Lavrov

HE the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation Sergey Lavrov confirmed that Russia, Turkiye and Iran have agreed at a meeting in Doha on the need to immediately stop hostilities in Syria, call for the start of dialogue between the Syrian government and the opposition, and fully implement UN Agreement 2254.In a session at the Doha Forum, Lavrov pointed out that Russia is working with Turkiye and Iran to take steps to ensure the implementation of calls for de-escalation in Syria.Regarding his country's withdrawal of its ships from the Syrian Tartus base, he explained that the matter is related to naval maneuvers taking place in the Mediterranean Sea.Meanwhile, the Russian Foreign Minister warned that extremism will spread in the region if a Palestinian state is not established.He also renewed his country's readiness to use all means in its war against Ukraine. He said that the West must understand Russia's use of its new 'Oreshnik' missile against Ukraine last November.
