The President of the Republic of Namibia Dr. Nangolo Mbumba stressed the importance of enforcing the implementation of international humanitarian law (IHL) and relevant provisions to protect civilians as well as hold criminals accountable.

In the "Taking the Stand: Strengthening International Humanitarian Law and Accountability" session held in Doha Forum 2024, Dr. Mbumba discussed the consequences of violating the IHL and the horrible acts committed against innocent people in many countries despite the existence of institutions and laws that prevent such atrocities.

Dr. Mbumba said that what is occurring in Gaza is extremely unfortunate and that the Middle East is a religious region, and no religion permits such violations and the protection of criminals.

Dr. Mbumba called for the need to stop the crime of killing people in all places.

He highlighted the United Nations' role in conflict areas and saving lives and said that collective action achieves a peaceful and stable world and develops advanced and prosperous societies.
