AFG College with the University of Aberdeen hosted their sixth graduation ceremony at the Westin Hotel in Doha. The event marked a proud milestone for those students who had successfully completed their academic degree programmes in Qatar.The event was attended by Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh al-Thani, chairperson of Al Faleh Educational Holding, alongside Prof Siladitya Bhattachary, vice-principal of the University of Aberdeen, and a number of VIPs and honoured guests.Joining the graduates were representatives from the University of Aberdeen, AFG College faculty and staff, as well as the proud families and friends of the students.Reflecting the institution’s global brand and the appealing programmes that are offered in Doha, the graduating students reflected a diverse range of nationalities, which included a number from Qatar and across the globe. The graduating cohort is testament to the institution’s focus on building a global academic community here in Qatar.Dr Sheikha Aisha said: "It always fills me with great pride being able to attend our annual graduation ceremony and being part of the celebration of those who have worked so hard to achieve this milestone in their lives. Today we recognise the culmination of their dedication in completing their studies, whilst at the same time recognising their families and loved ones who have supported them throughout. I am confident that our graduates will make meaningful contributions to their chosen fields and the wider community and I look forward to witnessing their successes.”Prof Bhattacharya added:Graduation is always a time for great celebration as we mark the culmination of the hard work and dedication shown by our amazing students throughout their studies with us. Celebrating here in beautiful Doha, with its strong commitment to education through the Qatar National Vision 2030, makes this event more special, as we bring together the ancient traditions of Aberdeen and Qatar in this truly wonderful graduation event.Student representative, Moza al-Hedaifi reflected on her academic journey and the transformative experiences of undertaking her undergraduate and postgraduate programme at the institution. She encouraged her peers to pursue success and become positive agents of change in their careers and communities.Al-Hedaifi ented " Graduating with a master’s degree is a milestone that reflects the dedication and growth we’ve experienced along the way.
