Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a co-operation agreement with Jordan’s Ministry of Education to launch the construction of the Al-Hilaliya Primary School for Boys in the Madaba Governorate.
The agreement was signed by Saleh al-Merri, the general supervisor of QC’s office in Jordan, in the presence of Qatar's ambassador Sheikh Saud bin Nasser bin Jassim al-Thani, and Jordan's Minister of Education, Dr Azmi Mahafzah.
The agreement outlines the construction of a primary school covering approximately 1,300sqm, with 12 classrooms capable of accommodating 400 students annually. The school will also include a range of essential educational facilities. The total cost of the project is estimated at 450,000 Jordanian dinars.
Al-Merri emphasised that Qatar Charity is committed to enhancing co-operation with the Jordanian government and trusted local organisations to consolidate efforts for the benefit of humanitarian causes.
Ambassador Sheikh Saud underscored that the agreement is part of broader efforts to strengthen the educational sector by creating positive and conducive learning environments. He highlighted Qatar’s ongoing partnership with Jordan in achieving significant milestones through effective Qatari institutions in the humanitarian response field.
Dr Mahafzah praised QC’s generous contribution to the project, which aligns with the ministry’s strategic plans to expand school construction, eliminate rented buildings, and phase out the two-shift system, ultimately ensuring a better educational environment for students.
