Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati met Sunday with United Nations Special Coordinator for Lebanon (UNSCOL) Jeanine Hennis-Plasschaert.

During the meeting, they discussed the current developments, particularly the situation in the south, and the continued Israeli violations of the ceasefire agreement.

Mikati also met with UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs Tom Fletcher, in the presence of UN Deputy Special Coordinator Resident and Humanitarian Coordinator for Lebanon Imran Riza.

During the meeting, Mikati thanked the United Nations for its continued support to Lebanon, its care for humanitarian efforts, and its support for those in need due to the Israeli aggression.

For his part, Fletcher updated the Lebanese caretaker Prime Minister on the humanitarian aid provided to Lebanon.

They also discussed the cooperation between the Lebanese government and the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), as well as future projects to address Lebanon's social and economic challenges.
