Avoid speeding, overtaking, or changing lanes while driving in fog, the Ministry of Interior (MoI) has urged the drivers in its advisory. The advisory, published by MoI on X, recommended a set of necessary safety guidelines for driving in fog. “Avoid speeding, overtaking or changing lanes. Use the vehicles’ signal lights before turning or changing lanes. Turn on the front and rear windshield wipers to remove condensation. Double the safe distance between vehicles. Maintain a high level of focus and avoid distractions unrelated to the road,” the advisory said.
It urged the drivers to keep on the right edge of the road or lane markings as a guide when visibility is low and avoid using hazard lights while driving except in cases of a complete stop.
The advisory further asked to turn on the vehicles’ low beam headlights. “In case of zero visibility, do not hesitate to pull over off the road and turn on the hazard lights,” it said. “Your adherence to safety guidelines ensures your safety and others,” it added.
