The Arab Gulf Cup Football Federation (AGCFF) announced today postponement of final match of the 26th Arab Gulf Cup (Khaleeji 26) to January 4, instead of previously scheduled date of January 3.

This decision came following a meeting held by the committee today in Kuwait, during which it was agreed to delay the final match by one day while keeping semi-final matches scheduled for December 31, to be played at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium and Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium.

AGCFF competitions' committee chairman Khaled Al Muqren, stated in a press briefing after the meeting that the organizing committee had proposed adjustments to the schedule of both final and semi-final matches. The final match was postponed to January 4, while dates for the semi-final matches were confirmed for December 31, as initially planned. He emphasized that federations of the four teams that qualified for semi-finals unanimously approved adjustment without any objections.

The first semi-final match will see Oman national team, champions of Group A, face Saudi national team, runners-up of Group B, at 5:30 PM on Tuesday, December 31, at Jaber Al-Mubarak Stadium. The second semi-final match will feature Bahrain national team, leaders of Group B, against Kuwait national team, runners-up of Group A, at 8:45 PM on the same day at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium.

Sheikh Ahmad Al-Yousef Al-Sabah, President of Kuwait Football Association and Vice Chairman of Organizing Committee for Khaleeji 26, revealed on Saturday the proposal submitted by organizing committee to adjust schedules for semi-final and final matches.

He explained that the proposal, presented to the AGCFF, suggested rescheduling semi-final matches to be played over two separate days Tuesday, December 31, and Wednesday, January 1 both at Jaber Al-Ahmad International Stadium, instead of holding them on the same day as initially planned at Jaber Al-Mubarak and Jaber Al-Ahmad Stadiums. The proposal also included moving the final match to January 4 instead of January 3.

After consulting with federations of the four teams involved in the semi-finals, AGCFF Competitions Committee decided to maintain the original schedule for the semi-final matches and only adjust the date of the final match.
