Qatar University (QU) admitted around 900 male and female undergraduate students to the Spring 2025 semester, 70% of whom are Qatari students.

The university invited all applicants for the Spring 2025 semester to check their admission decisions via their e-admission accounts on https://mybanner.qu.edu.qa/.

Commenting on the occasion, QU Vice-President for Student Affairs Dr. Mohammad Diab said that admission is granted on the basis of competitiveness, adding that meeting Secondary School minimum requirements does not necessarily guarantee admission to a specific college, as admissions are made each semester according to the capacity of each individual college.

Dr. Diab also encouraged students who were unable to gain admission in Spring 2025 to apply again for the Fall 2025 semester.

He stressed QU's commitment to providing quality education, saying that education transcends academic achievement to encompass a comprehensive experience that helps shape students' personalities and develop their skills through both academic and extracurricular activities.

Dr. Diab added that the university strives to provide a stimulating educational environment that enables students to make the most of the opportunities facilitated to them on campus, providing resources and capabilities that support their excellence and achievement, as well as assisting them in their academic journey to help fulfill their ambitions and future goals.

Regarding the online orientation program for new students, Director of Admissions at QU Fatima al-Kawari said that it will be held for transfer and new students on Jan 12, ahead of the semester's start on Jan 19, with the add/drop period ending on Jan 23.

Al-Kawari noted that the orientation program aims to save new students' time and effort by introducing them to university services and policies remotely. She emphasized that attending and successfully completing the orientation program are mandatory for all students in order to complete the admission process. Al-Kawari added that failure to attend the orientation program will result in the cancellation of the student's admission, requiring them to reapply for a later semester.

The Director of Admissions at QU said that the program is on an electronic platform that includes various videos and presentations introducing the most important and relevant university information.

Additionally, QU announced its scholarship granting decisions for Spring 2025 semester students, including excellence scholarships, scholarships for children of GCC nationals with a Qatari high school diploma, and scholarships for children of QU employees.

It added that decisions regarding performance-based scholarships for currently enrolled students will be announced on Jan 19.
