Doha to host 43rd Arab Men's Volleyball Club Championship tomorrow

The 43rd edition of the Arab Men's Volleyball Clubs Championship will kick off tomorrow, Thursday, and will run until January 26. A total of 15 teams will compete for the Arab title, with matches held at the volleyball courts of Al Arabi and Qatar clubs in Doha.The tournament will open with three matches tomorrow, including Al-Salam from Oman against Bani Yas from UAE, Al-Jazira from UAE facing Kuwait's Burqan, and Qatar Club taking on Gaza from Palestine.On the second day, four more matches will take place: Al-Shorta from Qatar will meet Erbil from Iraq, Al-Sib from Oman will play Zamalek from Egypt, Kuwait's Al-Kuwait will face Al-Hilal from Libya, and Bahrain's Dar Kulaib will go up against Al-Ahly from Egypt.The tournament draw, conducted via video conference, placed Qatar's representatives Qatar Club and Al-Shorta in groups 3 and 4, respectively, with 15 teams representing 10 Arab countries in total.Group stage matches will continue until January 20. The quarterfinals and placement matches will be held on January 22, while the semifinals and final placement matches will take place on January 24.Group 1 consists of Al-Sweihli (Libya), Al-Salam (Oman), and Bani Yas (UAE), while Group 2 includes Al-Sib (Oman), Al-Kuwait (Kuwait), Al-Hilal (Libya), and Zamalek (Egypt).Group 3 features Erbil (Iraq), Dar Kulaib (Bahrain), Al-Ahly (Egypt), and Al-Shorta (Qatar), while Group 4 includes Gaza (Palestine), Burqan (Kuwait), Qatar (Qatar), and Al-Jazira (UAE).The Qatar Volleyball Association has confirmed that it is fully prepared to deliver an outstanding tournament, ensuring top-notch organization and the best facilities and services for both the teams and fans. The championship adds to the series of major sporting events hosted by Qatar, reinforcing the country's status as a global sports hub.The tournament aims to foster healthy competition among Arab clubs, elevate the level of volleyball in the region, and highlight Qatar's ability to organize world-class events.
