Doha: Mohammed al-Mutawa began his 2025 FIM Mini GP Qatar Championship campaign in a dominant style, securing two commanding wins at the Lusail track on Saturday evening. After topping the time sheets in both Race 1 and Race 2 in the opening round of the prestigious championship, al-Mutawa sits comfortably at the top of the standings with 50 points.Andrea Giacchero was his main challenger, finishing second in both races to secure 40 points. Meanwhile, Jake Franklin holds third place in the standings with 32 points after booking his place in the remaining spot on the podium in each race. Anas Boukabache, who came fourth in both races, follows closely on 26 points, while Tyler Netterberg completes the top five on 22 points.The championship, supported by Qatar Motor & Motorcycle Federation, Lusail International Circuit, and Qatar Motorsports Academy, returns on April 26-27 for the second round.
