Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan affirmed on Friday that Turkiye will continue working with Indonesia to support the reconstruction of Gaza and to defend the Palestinian cause. His remarks came during a joint press conference with Indonesian President Prabowo Subianto, who is currently visiting Turkiye.President Erdogan said that they discussed the steps they can take to increase the trade volume between their countries to their target of $10 billion, in a balanced and mutually beneficial way.He added that the two sides also reviewed ongoing projects and explored new areas of cooperation, including joint production in defense industry.President Erdogan emphasized that Turkiye continues to collaborate with Indonesia across all international platforms, including United Nations, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), G20, and Developing-8 (D-8) countries.Meanwhile, President Subianto addressed Turkish Parliament, stating that Indonesia stands side by side with Turkiye in defending justice and truth across the world. He said that while many countries talk about democracy and human rights, but when children and mothers are bombed and Palestinians are being killed in Gaza, many of those same countries act as if they are unaware and turn a blind eye to the human rights violations happening there. At the conclusion of their talks, the two countries signed three agreements: one on cooperation in disaster and emergency management, a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in media, public relations, and communications, and another agreement on cultural collaboration.
