Qatar Charity (QC) announced Sunday that its Somalia office had implemented around 300 humanitarian and development projects in 2024, totalling over QR40mn.

A QC statement said the projects benefited over 600,000 people across various regions in the eastern African nation.

The office also signed several co-operation and partnership agreements with UN, international organisations and relevant government bodies, which contributed to

co-ordinating efforts and enhancing the impact of its projects and aid.

The projects covered sectors such as water and sanitation, food security, health, education, social welfare, economic empowerment, and social housing.

These efforts were part of the QC's comprehensive response to address the humanitarian challenges caused by the ongoing crises in Somalia, including providing humanitarian aid and rehabilitating infrastructure amid the successive disasters of drought, floods, and conflicts.
