Qatar Charity (QC) has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with UK-MED, a humanitarian medical NGO, to establish a framework for co-operation in providing healthcare services, responding to emergency situations and crises globally, and strengthening humanitarian efforts.
The MoU was signed by Mohammed al-Ghamdi, chief governance and external affairs officer at QC, and David Wightwick, CEO UK-Med.
Both parties, through this MoU, aim to explore collaboration in areas of mutual interest, co-operate in designing and delivering programmes, including setting objectives, goals, and strategies, and share best practices, lessons learned, and technical expertise.
Under this MoU, both parties will collaborate to identify mutually beneficial opportunities and establish effective implementation mechanisms for humanitarian and development initiatives.
Al-Ghamdi highlighted that this collaboration is part of QC’s continuous efforts to build strong partnerships with international humanitarian organisations.
Al-Ghamdi praised the CEO of UK-MED’s participation as a keynote speaker at the February 9 ceremony unveiling the Humanitarian Impact Forum identity, noting this marked the beginning of collaboration and the importance of co-ordinated humanitarian efforts.
Wightwick described the MoU with QC as the first step towards a promising and impactful partnership between both organisations. He highlighted UK-MED’s role as a frontline agency delivering healthcare to the most vulnerable in crisis settings and praised QC’s extensive humanitarian efforts across numerous countries.
Wightwick emphasised that the collaboration between both organisations presents a valuable opportunity to strengthen humanitarian response and expand access to vital healthcare services for those in need.
