The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs’ Department of Religious Call and Guidance has honoured the winners of the annual sport tournament that was held for students of the Holy Qur’an learning centres.
The event was held at the ministry’s playgrounds in the Abu Hamour on December 22-31, with the participation of 16 teams in the 13-15 age category.
The tournament culminated in the team of Aisha bint Abi Bakr clinching the championship title after defeating Al Kisai team in the final face-off.
The department highlighted that the event was intended to enhance awareness, promote Islamic values, hone students’ skills and dedicate a competitive environment to “turbocharge” them with beneficial sporting energies.
