HE Qatar Media Corp (QMC) Chairperson Sheikh Hamad bin Thamer al-Thani met with Saudi Minister of Media Salman bin Yousef al-Dosari on the sidelines of the Saudi Media Forum, which began Wednesday in Riyadh. The meeting discussed ways to enhance and develop bilateral media relations between the two countries.
HE the QMC Chairperson participated in the opening of the 4th edition of the Saudi Media Forum 2025.
HE Sheikh Hamad praised the forum's activities, affirming that launching such creative media initiatives in the region deepens awareness of the importance, roles, and impact of various media platforms and content in today's world, which is witnessing rapid changes in digital transformation, artificial intelligence, and other new media technologies.
He added that such media forums also enhance partnerships and build bridges of understanding and co-operation among specialists, enthusiasts, and media industry leaders in the region and their counterparts at the regional and global levels, contributing to innovative and sustainable media development in the region.
The three-day forum's agenda includes several key topics of technology and its impact on the future of media, opportunities and challenges in the media economy, innovation and creativity in content creation, global trends, cultural identity and sustainability in addition to other communication and technology areas.
Concurrent with the forum, the Future of Media Exhibition (FOMEX) is being held, featuring wide participation from leading global media and technology companies and institutions, as well as innovations and applications from content creators and national media companies and entities. The exhibition also hosts a series of specialised workshops and panel discussions bringing together media experts and leaders from the region and around the world.
