The Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) slammed a new Israeli occupation settlement project as a flagrant violation of international law and relevant UN resolutions. An OIC statement warned that Israeli authorities' approval to build a road in occupied Jerusalem aiming to connect Jewish settlements is part of a plan to isolate occupied Jerusalem from its Palestinian surroundings, undermining the two-state solution. The project will annex the Ma'ale Adumim settlement to the occupied Jerusalem, the statement read. The OIC also renewed its call on the international community, particularly the Security Council, to assume its responsibilities towards obligating Israel, the occupying power, to cease all policies of settlement, annexation, forced displacement, and genocide against the Palestinian people, and to activate accountability mechanisms, including imposing international sanctions on the occupation for its repeated violations of international law.
