Dreama Orphans Care Centre on Saturday held an award ceremony at the Wifaq Centre Hall to honour the winners of its Research Award, an initiative sponsored by Bin Yousef Group of Companies. The event, according to an official statement, was attended by prominent officials, experts in social care and scientific research, and participating researchers. The award aims to support and encourage academic studies that contribute to the development of policies and programs dedicated to the care and empowerment of children enhancing their quality of life both socially and psychologically.

Qatar University (QU) secured first place for the research titled “Qatari Society’s Attitudes Towards the Adoption of Children: An Exploratory Study of Challenges and Opportunities,” conducted by researchers Mahra Rashid al-Muqarih and Sheikha Hamad al-Mankhas.

Doha Institute for Graduate Studies was awarded second place for the research titled “Effectiveness of Psychological and Social Empowerment Programs at Dreama: A Qualitative Case Study from the Perspective of Social Workers and Psychologists,” authored by researcher Hiam Talal.

QU also secured third place for the research titled “Effectiveness of Expressive Therapy Programs in Improving the Psychological and Social Well-being of Children: A Systematic Review,” conducted by researcher Ahmed al-Kubaisi.

Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed al-Thani, executive director of Dreama Orphans Care Centre, emphasised the importance of scientific research in improving the quality of services provided to children. She stated that the Research Award aligns with the centre’s vision to promote academic studies that support children and contribute to the development of effective strategies for their empowerment and integration into society. She also commended the efforts of the participating researchers, highlighting that the winning studies reflect a deep awareness of the importance of enhancing children's well-being and offer scientific solutions that can be utilized in improving services and programs for them.

As the official sponsor of the Research Award, Hussein al-Baker, managing director of Bin Yousef Group of Companies, delivered a speech expressing his gratitude.
