Clean-up campaign at Umm Al Sheif Marine Reserve

The Ministry of Environment and Climate Change's Marine Protection Department and the Department of Natural Reserves, carried out a comprehensive cleanup campaign at Umm Al Sheif Marine Reserve in celebration of Qatar Environment Day, held under the slogan 'Our Environment, A Sustainable Gift.'

The campaign was conducted in collaboration with the Marine Special Forces, the Environment Directorate of the Qatari Armed Forces at the Ministry of Defence, the General Directorate of Coasts and Borders Security at the Ministry of Interior, the General Cleanliness Department at the Ministry of Municipality, and the company "High Wash."

Mohamed al-Khanji, director of the Marine Protection Department, stressed that the campaign aims to remove marine waste and maintain ecological balance in natural areas rich in biodiversity, highlighting that these efforts reflect Qatar’s commitment to protecting its marine resources, particularly after Umm Al Sheif was designated as a marine reserve.
