Reaffirming its commitment to serving the community in Qatar across various segments, Qatar International Islamic Bank (QIIB) has extended its support to the inaugural edition of the 'Shafallah – Bridging Nations: Weaving Connections Through Art' initiative.
Organised by the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disabilities in collaboration with Bridging Nations and the Academic Society of Arts, Sciences, and Literature in Paris, the initiative was launched in co-ordination with the French embassy in Qatar. The event was attended by HE the Minister of Social Development and Family Buthaina bint Ali al-Jabr al-Nuaimi and HE the Minister of Environment and Climate Change Dr Abdullah bin Abdulaziz bin Turki al-Subaie.
The initiative aims to celebrate artists and creators with disabilities, highlighting the significance of community partnerships in enhancing their lives. It provides a platform for them to showcase their talents to the public and be recognised for their artistic contributions in an inclusive and supportive environment.
Commenting on the bank’s support for the initiative, QIIB chief executive Dr Abdulbasit Ahmed al-Shaibei stated: “We are pleased to always be at the forefront of supporting priority social causes.”
“We highly appreciate the role that Shafallah plays and reaffirm our support for its initiatives,” he said. “This support reflects our steadfast dedication to social responsibility and to empowering those in need.”
“We commend this pioneering initiative, which carries both local significance and international engagement through the participation of the French embassy in this event,” Dr al-Shaibei added. “By fostering cultural exchange and promoting the values of co-operation and partnership in their many facets, the initiative takes on even greater importance.”
“We are also deeply moved by the inspiring themes of the selected artworks, which highlight the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs),” he continued. “This thoughtful gesture by the organisers is truly commendable, as sustainability has become a key issue on the agendas of various sectors, including banking.”
“It underscores the importance of a collective commitment to sustainability worldwide, given its profound impact on the future of people,” Dr al-Shaibei concluded.
