Qatar’s motorsport icon Nasser Saleh al-Attiyah delivered a dominant performance at the 2025 Abu Dhabi Desert Challenge, the second round of the FIA World Rally-Raid Championship (W2RC), securing his fifth win in the history of the prestigious event. Teamed up with co-driver Edouard Boulanger in their Dacia Sandrider, al-Attiyah concluded the five-stage rally with a total time of 14hr 26min 55sec. The victory marks al-Attiyah’s eighth win in sixteen rounds of the W2RC as he regained the championship lead with a commanding 91 points, 19 points ahead of his closes rival Yazeed al-Rajhi. Toyota Gazoo Racing’s Lucas Moraes/Armand Monleon and Seth Quintero/Dennis Zenz finished second and third respectively in the overall standings after a dramatic final day in which al-Attiyah won the last stage by 1:47 secs.
