On the occasion of International Women's Day, AFG College with the University of Aberdeen, a subsidiary of Al Faleh Educational Holding, hosted its seventh annual conference with the theme Accelerate Action and under the patronage of Al Faleh Educational Holding chairperson and founder Dr Sheikha Aisha bint Faleh al-Thani.
The annual event reflects the AFG College’s unwavering commitment to social responsibility and community engagement, reinforcing its dedication to driving social progress and contributing to the nation’s overall development.
The conference was attended by Dr Sheikha Aisha, Al Faleh Educational Holding chief executive Sheikha Anwar bint Nawaf al-Thani, Austria’s ambassador to Qatar Erika Bernhard, Democratic Republic of the Congo (DR Congo) ambassador Valérie Lusamba Kabeya, and UK deputy head of mission Duncan Hill, along with distinguished guests from sectors including diplomacy, business, finance, education, and law.
“We are proud to host another successful gathering that highlights women’s achievements across multiple sectors,” said Dr Sheikha Aisha. “This event is not just a celebration, but a platform to amplify our voices, recognise our contributions, and showcase the real impact women have on our communities.”

The event underscored the importance of fostering inclusivity and empowering women across diverse industries.
The conference brought together esteemed speakers from various sectors, emphasising the critical role of women in all spheres of society.
The first panel, titled "Women in Diplomacy & NGOs: Driving Meaningful Change", featured distinguished speakers from the field, including Sheikha Anwar, head of delegation for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Qatar Basma Tabaja, and ambassadors Kabeya and Bernhard.
The second panel on "Women in Law, Compliance & Finance: Navigating Power & Progress" highlighted prominent women discussing key topics.
Speakers included Dr Ghada M Darwish Karbon Law Firm dounder and managing partner Dr Ghada M Darwish Karbon, Invest Qatar head of policy Alanoud M al-Mosleh, regulatory expert Maha AlSaadi, and Lesha Bank chierf risk officer Fulya Plas.
Concluding the event, Sheikha Anwar presented special awards to women who have made exceptional contributions to their fields and championed inclusivity through their inspiring efforts.
