The second edition of the Qatar Squash Federation International Championship for men concluded at the Khalifa International Tennis and Squash Complex, following several days of intense competition.
Egyptian player Karim Abdel Gawad emerged as the champion after defeating his compatriot Tarek Momen in a thrilling final that lasted 72 minutes.
Abdel Gawad won the thrilling match 3-2 with a scoreline of 11-4, 10-12, 11-4, 8-11, and 11-4, adding another title to his impressive record.
Tournament Director Saad al-Mohannadi expressed his delight at the success of the second edition, praising the high technical level of the competition.
He added that the tournament has become a prominent event on the global squash calendar. He stressed keenness to provide a unique competitive experience for both players and fans.
The championship is one of the notable tournaments classified under the Bronze category of the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour, with a prize pool of $60,500.
This makes it a significant event for players aiming to improve their world rankings.
