The Ministry of Endowments (Awqaf) and Islamic Affairs announced that the "Iftar Saem" initiative has seen a strong turnout across various regions at the start of the holy month of Ramadan.
The ministry emphasised that the Iftar tables have been strategically placed in areas with high population density to maximise their impact.
In a statement Monday, the ministry explained that the General Administration of Endowments, through the Iftar Saem project, aims to reinforce the values of social solidarity and cohesion, while fulfilling the wishes of generous donors.
The initiative provides vital support to those in need, ensuring that fasting individuals particularly workers with limited means can break their fast on time.
Additionally, these communal gatherings serve as an opportunity for advocacy, awareness, and religious education.
Iftar Saem Committee chairman Mohammed Yaqoub al-Ali highlighted that the ministry's Iftar tables are expected to serve about 300,000 fasting individuals throughout Ramadan 1446 AH.
He expressed deep appreciation for the benefactors and donors whose contributions continue to sustain this charitable project, stressing that Iftar Saem embodies the spirit of solidarity within Qatari society.
The cost of an individual meal is QR23, offering an opportunity for the public to contribute and earn spiritual rewards.

Al-Ali also noted that three generous philanthropists have fully sponsored the Iftar tables at Muraikh, the Industrial Area, and the Thursday and Friday Market in Ain Khalid for the entire month.
Their collective contribution, amounting to QR1.8mn, will provide 100,000 meals throughout Ramadan.
