Holding extraordinary Arab Summit in Cairo significant to formulate unified Arab stance to support Palestinians - Qatar's Ambassador to Egypt

HE Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt and Permanent Representative to the Arab League Tariq Ali Faraj Al Ansari emphasized the significance of the extraordinary Arab Summit hosted by Egypt on Tuesday amid a complex international context, as the world is preoccupied with various crises.
In an interview with Qatar News Agency (QNA), His Excellency stressed that the importance of the extraordinary Arab summit in Cairo lies in the fact that it strongly reaffirms the need to adopt a unified Arab stance before the international community, with the participation of the Secretary-General of the United Nations and a number of regional organizations to work to support the Palestinian people and establish their independent state on the 1967 borders with East Jerusalem as its capital. He added that this summit also aims to help the Palestinian people in the current ordeal after the recent aggression on the Gaza Strip.
In this regard, His Excellency indicated that the Arab Summit will ensure the unity of the Arab ranks at the level of leaders with regard to supporting the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA), preventing its liquidation, as well as preventing the liquidation of the Palestinian cause through the displacement of Palestinians, working to establish them on their land, and other positions that must be issued at the highest level to support the Palestinian cause.
He pointed out that supporting the Palestinian people is a fixed principle in Qatar's policy and is ongoing and strongly supported, thanks to the wise leadership of HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and His Highness's directives in this regard, as the State of Qatar is one of the biggest supporters of the Palestinian people.
His Excellency added that HH the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani's participation in the extraordinary Arab summit hosted by Egypt on Tuesday is not the first, but rather His Highness is keen to always respond to participation in all summits and consultative meetings that support the just and inalienable rights of the Palestinian people.
HE Al Ansari said that in this hectic atmosphere, Qatar's diplomacy led by HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani plays a major role in directing Qatar's policy to deal with global challenges.
He added that without these diplomatic activities, the State of Qatar would not have had this major role as an active and responsible member of the international community through several mediation roles, particularly the Palestinian issue.
Regarding the role of the State of Qatar in providing relief and assistance to the Palestinian people, HE Al Ansari said that Qatar has a large team concerned with this in Cairo as well as in El Arish, where it also works with the United Nations organizations and inside Palestine to distribute the large Qatari aid that came by air and sea. Qatar has the largest warehouse in Gaza, and even the United Nations uses this warehouse to store aid. Qatar also has the largest warehouse in El Arish.
His Excellency added that Qatari aid is flowing thanks to the wise leadership. Qatar is an active element in the joint mediation taking place with the Arab Republic of Egypt, and also with the participation of the United States of America to calm the situation and maintain the ceasefire, considering that this is the appropriate climate for aid to enter in order for the Palestinian people to remain on their land and prevent their displacement, through humanitarian support and reconstruction of what was destroyed by the Israeli aggression.
Regarding how to build during this summit on the successful role played by the State of Qatar in cooperation with Egypt and the United States to reach a ceasefire agreement in Gaza, His Excellency pointed out that the ceasefire, its consolidation and the implementation of its stages lead to the appropriate climate and the entry of humanitarian aid to relieve the fraternal Palestinian people. In this regard, he stressed the importance of crystallizing relevant ideas to entrench the Palestinian people on their land and grant them all their legitimate rights. (
