Ooredoo Qatar, in partnership with Microsoft, unveiled ‘Obot’, its new AI-powered chatbot at Web Summit Qatar 2025, demonstrating the transformative potential of generative artificial intelligence in customer interactions.

The Obot stand featured live demonstrations. Attendees experienced how Obot provides tailored recommendations and helpful tips about Ooredoo’s plans and services.

Obot is powered by the GPT 4.0 model with RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) over an internal knowledge base and recognised sources. It will soon be available to users in both English and Arabic, designed to continuously learn from user interactions.

It also assists with scheduling appointments, tracking orders, and providing instant guidance, further enhancing efficiency and convenience for customers.

Over the coming days, Obot will be rolled out across the Ooredoo website, the Ooredoo app, WhatsApp, Facebook, and other channels through which users can connect.

Sheikh Ali bin Jabor al-Thani, CEO of Ooredoo Qatar, said: “Our collaboration with Microsoft to introduce Obot at Web Summit Qatar 2025 marks a major step towards smarter, more efficient, and personalised customer interactions. As digital transformation accelerates, we remain committed to improving the way customers engage with Ooredoo, ensuring they receive helpful, data-driven assistance instantly.”

Lana Khalaf, general manager of Microsoft Qatar, said: “At Microsoft, we are dedicated to transforming customer service through the innovative use of generative AI. This dedication is exemplified by our collaboration with Ooredoo and the introduction of Obot.
