MES Indian School teachers attended an interactive session on leadership enhancement, titled ‘Leader Plus’.
Prominent social entrepreneur Adil C T, the resource person, offered a comprehensive presentation on leadership and emotional intelligence.
He elaborated on the key competencies that define effective leadership, with a particular focus on the four dimensions of emotional intelligence: self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and social skills, thus emphasising how these attributes are essential in fostering both personal growth and professional success.
Adil also discussed two types of good teachers — those who impart knowledge and those who inspire transformation. He urged educators to aspire toward the latter, advocating for an approach that goes beyond conventional teaching methods and to nurture a learning environment that fosters critical thinking, creativity, and innovation.
QatarEnergy’s telecom manager Akbar Ali, a special guest, spoke on his extensive experience in the corporate sector. The session fostered discussions and reflections on how leadership traits can be integrated into personal, professional, and educational settings.
Earlier, the event commenced with an opening prayer by Fathima Afrah and a welcome song by the students. Addressing the audience, the school principal Dr Hameeda Kadar emphasised the significance of leadership skills in both personal and professional lives. Fiona Mary D’Cruz and Rizwa Fathima, teachers from the Department of English, welcomed the gathering and proposed a vote of thanks, respectively.
