Qatar Chamber recently participated in the Manafea International Forum, which was organised by the Madinah Chamber in cooperation with the Makkah Chamber and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Development (ICCD) under the theme ‘Sustainability in Serving the Guests of God’.
Qatar Chamber chairman Sheikh Khalifa bin Jassim bin Mohamed al-Thani, who is also the vice president of the ICCD, led the chamber's delegation, which included board members Abdullah bin Mohamed al-Emadi, Abdulrahman bin Abdul Jaleel al-Abdul Ghani, and Dr Mohamed bin Jawhar al-Mohamad.
The delegation also participated in the 38th ICCD board of directors meeting, which discussed enhancing trade cooperation among Islamic countries and strengthening private sector economic activity to increase trade exchange within the Islamic world.
The agenda included following up on the implementation of the decisions issued by the board of directors and the general assembly of the Islamic Chamber, adopting the report of the 69th meeting of the Finance Committee, and preparing for the elections of the board of directors of the Islamic Chamber for the next session 2026-2030.
During the meeting, a presentation was delivered on the development of the Islamic Chamber Academy, along with another presentation on deepening the concept of halal within the Islamic Chamber’s 2026-2033 strategy. The aim is to establish an integrated halal ecosystem, transforming it into a global industry encompassing products and services.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Khalifa witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between the Federation of GCC Chambers and the Islamic Chamber of Commerce and Industry. It was signed by FGCCC secretary general Saleh bin Hamad al-Sharqi and Islamic Chamber secretary general Yousef Hassan al-Khalawi.
The agreement aims to enhance cooperation between both parties in organising events, supporting SMEs, and encouraging innovation and digital transformation in GCC countries.
