The General Directorate of Endowments at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs (Awqaf) reaffirmed its ongoing educational support for students with disabilities at the Al Tamkon Comprehensive School, announcing the provision of educational grants for students facing challenges due to their disabilities to help them continue their education.
During a press conference, Awqaf's Director General of the General Directorate of Endowments Eng Hassan Abdullah al-Marzouqi highlighted the importance of the partnership between the endowments and educational institutions that support people with disabilities. He praised the significant role played by the Al Tamkon Comprehensive School in providing a suitable educational environment for this segment of society.
Al-Marzouqi explained that the support for the school is part of the General Directorate of Endowments' commitment to fulfilling the conditions set by benefactors who stipulated that the proceeds of their endowments be used for education and health. This is facilitated through the Endowment Fund for Scientific and Cultural Development and the Endowment Fund for Healthcare, emphasizing that supporting community institutions aligns with the Directorate's motto, "Endowment is a Community Partnership."
The director-general elaborated that the support includes providing educational grants to students who face difficulties due to their disabilities, in collaboration with the Al Tamkon Comprehensive School, which continues to offer outstanding services that align with inclusive education standards for people with disabilities.
He stressed that successful societies are those that work to empower all their members, and people with disabilities are an integral part of Qatar's community, adding that the directorate strives to provide the right environment for them to innovate, grow, and move towards a better future, highlighting the importance of endowment as a form of community partnership.
General Consultant and Supervisor for Development and Education at the Al Tamkon Comprehensive School Dr Hind al-Rabah praised the efforts of the General Directorate of Endowments, which established endowment funds dedicated to supporting students, patients, and individuals in need, including students with disabilities.
Al-Rabah emphasised the positive impact of these endowments, reflecting the high humanitarian spirit of the benefactors. She called on philanthropists and benefactors to contribute further to the endowment funds, enabling the General Directorate of Endowments to assist a larger number of community institutions, including students with disabilities, thus contributing to their empowerment and integration into society.
