The Organisation of Islamic Co-operation (OIC) welcomed Saturday the signing of the border demarcation agreement between Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan.
The OIC's Secretary-General, Hussein Ibrahim Taha, affirmed that the signing of this agreement turns the page on decades-long disputes between them, adding that it enhances mutual trust and lends new impetus to the relations of co-operation and good neighbourliness between the nations.
He emphasised that based on the OIC's commitment to strengthening the bonds of brotherhood and harmony among its member states, it hopes that this historic achievement will contribute to serving the interests of both countries and bolstering the foundations of peace between them and the region as a whole.
