The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Syrian Arab Republic expressed its profound appreciation for the State of Qatar's initiative to begin supplying electricity to Syria.
In a statement, the Ministry emphasized that this initiative is a critical step in meeting the urgent energy needs in Syria and mitigating the suffering of the Syrian people.
It extended its sincere thanks and appreciation to all entities participating in this critical program, including the Qatar Fund for Development (QFFD), Jordan's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), in recognition of their efforts and commitment to supporting the people of Syria.
In addition, the Ministry highlighted that the initiative aims to provide 400 megawatts of electricity daily at the Deir Ali power station in Syria, with plans for an eventual increase in production. The energy will be distributed to cities throughout the country, thereby contributing to achieving stability and alleviating the burdens on the Syrians.
The Ministry affirmed that it looks forward to further productive cooperation with all partners to ensure that Syrians restore their lives and dignity following over a decade of war, massacres, and deprivation, underscoring its commitment to building a powerful and independent nation through this cooperation and shared support.
