Qatar Charity (QC) is continuing its ‘Feed the Fasting’ project globally as part of its Ramadan campaign, 'Giving Lives On.' Food parcels have been distributed to displaced families, those in need, and orphans sponsored by QC in Mauritania and Burkina Faso.
As many as 9,000 people have benefitted from this effort, receiving essential food supplies sufficient for their Iftar meals throughout the holy month, a statement said Sunday.
In Mauritania, the project was launched in the presence of Fahd al-Dosari, charge d'affaires at the Qatari Embassy in Nouakchott, Lalla Fatima al-Sadiq al-Arabi, Advisor to the Minister of Social Affairs, Childhood, and Family, and Fatima Hamoud Lamana, deputy mayor of Dar Naim Municipality. The initiative is expected to benefit 5,800 people.
Besides, a significant distribution of Ramadan food parcels reached 3,200 individuals across several regions in Burkina Faso, providing essential support to displaced, needy, and families of orphans.
Beneficiaries and local authorities praised the project and thanked QC for its continuous support, highlighting its role in regional development, poverty alleviation, and aiding displaced people.
