The Embassy of the State of Qatar in the Arab Republic of Egypt organised a Ramadan iftar Friday for children from orphanages in the Egyptian capital, Cairo. The event was held in collaboration with Qatar Charity, Egypts Ministry of Social Solidarity, and with the participation of Qatar Airways.In his remarks during the iftar, HE Tariq Ali Faraj Al Ansari, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Egypt and the Permanent Representative of Qatar to the League of Arab States, said that the purpose of this gathering was to bring joy and happiness to the faces of orphaned children in celebration of the blessed month of Ramadan.He warmly welcomed the events guests, who were keen to join the children for the iftar and share in making them smile, and expressed his gratitude to all who contributed to making the occasion special. He noted that the celebration also coincides with the beginning of the last ten days of Ramadan and the commemoration of Arab Orphan Day.He also pointed out the shared cultural traditions between the State of Qatar and the Arab Republic of Egypt, particularly in how both nations celebrate the holy month of Ramadan, with a focus on the needy and on providing social support to vulnerable groups in society, including orphans.His Excellency added that the event was an opportunity to create a cheerful atmosphere for children between the ages of 7 and 15, by joining them for iftar and giving them toys and gifts. He emphasised that these youngsters are future contributors and leaders of society and that instilling love in their hearts not only benefits them but also brings positive outcomes for the community. This commitment, he said, reflects Qatars dedication to fostering social harmony and sustainable development.
