Held at the Al-Arabi Sports Club Indoor Stadium in New Salata, the event witnessed thousands of people participating, a statement from KMCC Qatar said Friday.
Workers Support & Insurance Fund Authority officials Salim Darwish al-Muhannadi, Khalid Abdulrahman Fakhru, and Abdullah Muhammad Hasan, Indian Union Muslim League Kerala state secretary Parakkal Abdullah, Indian Cultural Centre (ICC) advisory council chairman P N Baburajan, Kunjammad Perambra and Faisal Hudawi were present.
A special Ramadan message was delivered by Zakaria al-Noori, a representative of Fanar Islamic Centre. During the event, KMCC state president Dr Abdul Samad, who has been appointed as the Indian Sports Centre advisory council chairperson, honoured KMCC leaders Afzal Abdul Majeed and Jafar Thayyil for their selection to the ICC and Indian Community Benevolent Forum managing committees, respectively.
KMCC Qatar advisory committee leaders, including M P Shafi Haji, S A M Basheer, Abdu Nasser Nachi, A V Abubakar Qasimi, C V Khalid, and P V Muhammad Moulavi, state office bearers P K Abdu Rahim, T T K Basheer, Adam Kunji, Siddique Vazhakad, Ajmal Nabeel, Ashraf Aralam, Ali Murayur, Tahir Thaha Kutty, V T M Sadiq, Salman Elayadam, Sameer Muhammad, Faisal Keloth, and Shamsuddin Vanimel also played pivotal roles in organising the event.
Dr Bahauddin Hudavi led the prayer, while Nasser Faizi performed the qiraat. General secretary Salim Nalakath welcomed the gathering and treasurer P S M Hussain proposed a vote of thanks.
