A Qatar-China youth dialogue, held in Doha recently, explored huge potential for mutual co-operation. China in Springtime: Sharing Opportunities with the World, Global Dialogue: China-Qatar Youth Dialogue, was hosted by China Media Group (CMG).
Qatari government officials, industry experts, representatives of Chinese-funded institutions in Qatar, and young people from both China and Qatar engaged in in-depth discussions on multiple topics, focusing on hot issues such as artificial intelligence enabling Sino-Qatar technological innovation and "Made in China" contributing to Qatar’s economic transformation and upgrading.
Shen Haixiong, vice minister of the Publicity Department of the CPC Central Committee and president of CMG, delivered a recorded video speech at the event which had Chinese ambassador to Qatar Cao Xiaolin, and Arab Publishers Association secretary-general Bachar Chebaro in attendance.
The discussions focused on the opportunities that China’s high-quality development has brought to Qatar and the co-operation between China and Qatar in the fields of technology and culture. Haixiong stated that during this year’s Two Sessions in China, President Xi Jinping stressed the importance of steadily expanding institutional openness and continuously expanding international co-operation.
China’s development cannot be separated from the world, and the prosperity of the world also needs China. In the face of global challenges, no country can solve the problems alone. China’s door to openness will only continue to open wider, injecting more stability and certainty into world development.
Addressing the participants, ambassador Xiaolin said China will continue to be a constructive force for global development, further expanding high-level openness and sharing the vast opportunities of Chinese-style modernisation with other countries.
Under the strategic leadership of the two heads of state, China-Qatar relations have entered a "golden period" over the past decade. Political mutual trust has deepened, practical co-operation has become closer, and cultural exchanges have become more active, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both countries.
The establishment of the first panda pavilion in the Middle East in Qatar and the upcoming release of the world’s highest-grossing animated film 'Ne Zha 2' in Qatar vividly reflect the deepening people-to-people ties between the two countries. The participants also exchanged ideas about the growing 'Chinese fever' and 'Chinese language fever' in Qatar.
Several Qatari youths participated in the dialogue in Chinese, expressing that the event was very beneficial. They described the session as a new starting point for deeper exchanges and co-operation between China and Qatar.
All the participants expressed their expectations that the youth of China and Qatar would blossom like spring, full of vitality and hope, contributing their youthful strength to the upgrading of the strategic partnership.
