The Philippine School Doha (PSD), in partnership with the PSD Parent-Teacher Association and Wellkins Medical Centre, collected 3,797kg of e-waste through a drive at its Mesaimeer campus.

The initiative was part of Wellkins Medical Centre’s Corporate Social Responsibility programme, ‘Turn Your E-Waste into Health & Wellness,’ which collected over 95,000kg of e-waste and earned the Qatar CSR Summit Award last year. More than 1,050 students, teachers, and staff participated, collecting 3,797kg of e-waste. Participants received Wellness Reward Points, redeemable at Wellkins Medical Centre.

All collected materials were recycled through Seashore Sustainability, the official campaign partner.

PSD principal (OIC) Dr Lorina S Villanueva lauded the school community’s collective effort.

The PTA Committee chair on community and social responsibility, Mark Alberto Libor, together with co-chair Jherosam Samonte, and the president of PTA board of directors, Dr Dianne Kristine Joy Closa Bonsol, said the campaign highlights shared responsibility for sustainability.

Dr Sameer Moopan, chairman and managing director of Wellkins Medical Centre, added: “This campaign furthers our mission of responsible e-waste management while rewarding contributors.”
