Amid the stringent military measures imposed by the Israeli occupation authorities to restrict access to Al-Aqsa Mosque, some 80,000 worshipers prayed Isha and Taraweeh on the 24th day of the holy month of Ramadan at the mosque, according to the Islamic Waqf Department in Jerusalem.

The department highlighted that most of the worshippers were either Jerusalemites or from within the territories of 1948, as the Israeli occupation authorities deprive thousands of Palestinians in the West Bank of reaching Jerusalem to pray at Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Local sources reported that the Israeli occupation forces obstructed the worshippers from reaching Al-Aqsa to pray through the Damascus and Lion Gates, and engaged in vetting their identities, ultimately arresting several young people and preventing them from entering the mosque.
