The third edition of The Pearl Island Ramadan Football Tournament concluded successfully on March 19, following two weeks of spirited competition at the Temba Arena.
Organised by the United Development Company (UDC), the tournament ran from March 5 to 19 and brought together players, families, and spectators in a festive atmosphere that celebrated both sport and the essence of Ramadan.
Since its inception, the tournament has witnessed steady growth, starting with 12 teams in its first edition, expanding to 16 in the second, and reaching a record 24 teams this year. This consistent increase reflects the tournament’s rising popularity and the growing enthusiasm it continues to generate among participants and the wider community. The Fayrouz Courtyard was transformed into a vibrant destination for families and fans, featuring an interactive fan zone, a dedicated children’s play area, live entertainment, and a variety of activities and promotions that enhanced the Ramadan atmosphere.
The tournament concluded with an exciting final, where the Al-Ghariyyah team claimed first place, ECM secured second, and Captain Sayyed's team finished third. Participants echoed the sentiment of appreciation, with one player expressing gratitude to the United Development Company for organising a fair and well-structured competition, and another highlighting the tournament’s impressive growth and the quality of the experience provided to teams and spectators alike.
The event culminated in an award ceremony honouring the winning teams and participants, marking the end of yet another successful chapter in The Pearl Island’s growing calendar of community events.
