The Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance at the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs concluded the public school qualifying tests for the 11th Little Muhaddith competition for male and female students in the country's schools.
In the presence of HE Undersecretary of the Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs Dr. Sheikh Khalid bin Mohammed bin Ghanem Al-Thani, the three-day tests were conducted at the headquarters of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance.
In a statement on Sunday, the ministry indicated that 131 male and female students qualified for the honorary shields during the final public selection process after receiving the highest scores in the fifth level, "elite 1."
The 11th edition of the competition witnessed a large turnout from students and parents, with approximately 8,328 participants, including male and female students, parents, and guardians.
Director of the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance Jassim Abdullah Al Ali praised the remarkable turnout and broad participation in the competition, noting the students' outstanding performance and the parents' eagerness to participate alongside their children.
He pointed out that the competition represents a unique platform for strengthening family ties through the participation of parents, in addition to its role in instilling prophetic values and Islamic morals in the souls of rising generations.
He emphasized that this initiative contributes significantly to honing students' skills and enhancing their religious culture, which will positively impact their academic achievement and community engagement.
The Little Muhaddith competition is a continuation of the Quranic competitions spread throughout Qatar. It is the fruit of cooperation between the Department of Da'wah and Religious Guidance, the General Directorate of Endowments, the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, Jassim bin Hamad Secondary School for Boys, Umm Al Qura Primary School for Boys, and Al Iman Secondary School for Girls.
The competition, with its various branches, targeted the participation of male and female students of all age groups from all public and private schools in the State of Qatar, in addition to the participation of their parents, thus enhancing communication between parents, students, and schools.
The current edition of the competition saw 12,381 participants, including 8,328 students from 443 schools and 1,313 parents. The tenth edition saw 6,672 participants, with 4,958 students and parents winning. 55 students were awarded shields for achieving the highest scores in the public competition.
The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs said that the winners will be honored on April 20-21. The organizing committee for the "Little Muhaddith" competition has allocated valuable cash prizes, supported by the Endowment bank for the service of the Quran and Sunnah, affiliated with the General Administration of Endowments.
The ministry indicated that cash prizes are awarded to the top-ranked winners across all eight levels. The value of the prizes ranges from QR 200 to 2,500 depending on the level and degree of excellence in the student and parent categories. The value of the prizes for the students who receive shields ranges from QR 4,000 to 6,000.
In addition to the cash prizes, the "Little Muhaddith" competition awarded honorary shields to the male and female students who won the public competitions after receiving the highest scores in the fifth level, "elite 1," in recognition of their excellence in memorization and public competitions.
