Several teams have arrived in Doha to participate in the four-day 17th Artistic Gymnastics World Cup (Taishan), which kicks off tomorrow at the Aspire Dome.

On Monday, national teams from Uzbekistan, Chinese Taipei and Hungary landed in Doha to begin their training camps ahead of the championship. The teams are training at the Al Laqta Training Centre, home to one of the premier gymnastics facilities in the Middle East.

Qatari gymnasts Rakan al-Hareth and Salma Nasser are also undergoing daily training at the centre, under the guidance of head coach Mahmoud al-Saadi and coach Mohammed al-Dulaimi, following their recent participation in the Artistic Gymnastics World Cup in Croatia.

Meanwhile, the Organising Committee, chaired by President of the Qatar Gymnastics Federation (QGF) Ali al-Hitmi, held an extensive coordination meeting with heads and co-ordinators of the working committees, in the presence of a large number of volunteers. The meeting was held at the competition venue with the goal of reviewing final preparations and ensuring that all teams are ready for this global event.
