Qatar Charity, through its office in Pakistan, has installed 80 manual water pumps in remote areas of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa region, providing clean drinking water to more than 10,000 beneficiaries.
This initiative aligns with Qatar Charitys ongoing commitment to ensuring access to clean water for underprivileged communities, supported by the generosity of donors in Qatar.
According to a statement by Qatar Charity, the project involved the installation of 40 pumps in Charsadda and another 40 in Mardan, aimed at meeting the urgent water needs of vulnerable communities, reducing the prevalence of waterborne diseases, and ensuring easier access to water within these areas.
The statement emphasized that the pumps were installed in response to severe shortages in water supply projects in Charsadda and Mardan, which had exacerbated hardships, particularly for residents of remote villages where most families cannot afford the costs of deep pumps.
Beneficiaries of the initiative expressed their happiness with the humanitarian project, highlighting how it has improved their living conditions by providing a permanent and safe source of drinking water. This has eased the daily burden of searching for water and alleviated the struggles faced by women and children.
Notably, in 2024, Qatar Charity installed over 1,100 manual pumps across various regions of Pakistan, delivering clean and safe drinking water to nearly 55,000 people . Among these, 250 pumps were installed in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, benefiting more than 27,000 people.
