The bikes will start at 8am and they will head to Al Amiriyah. The finish stage will be at Sealine Service Park and the first bike is expected to reach there around 11:30. Among cars, the first car is due to leave at 9.30am from the QMMF HQ with the first expected to finish at around 12.45pm.The podium ceremony is scheduled around 13:30 at Sealine.Most of the participants have taken part in the Qatar International Baja 2011 that was organised also by QMMF last November.
Meanwhile, the teams were scrutinsed and briefed at the QMMF offices yesterday.
Apart from the Qatar National Baja, the QMMF will also host the Sealine Cross Country Rally which will be under FIA and FIM rules. It will be the third round of FIA World Cup for Cross Country Rallies and round 2 of the FIM Cross Country Rallies World Championship from 15th to 21st April 2012. QMMF President Nasser Khalifa al-Attiyah and other officials are overseeing the preparations of the Sealine Cross Country Rally. For the Qatar National Baja and for the Sealine Cross Country Rally, QMMF is counting on the experience of Pedro Almeida and Jaime Santos as clerk of course for cars and safety officer respectively.
