De Boer in Doha
Ronald de Boer
Renowned Dutch coach and ex-player Ronald de Boer is visiting Qatar for different sports related activities, amongst them playing in the match of the Legends of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid that will take place tomorrow in Doha.
He will also attend the ASPIRE4SPORT conference & exhibition and will have several meetings to discuss further enhancing the bilateral Qatari-Dutch co-operation in the field of sports and business.
The embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands in Doha in co-operation with renowned Dutch companies such as Philips, Ballast Nedam, BAM International, Nedap, as well as Amsterdam Arena and Royal Haskoning will be represented through two pavilions in the exhibition of the ASPIRE4SPORT and will also be participating in the conferences and related activities.
The Dutch companies’ participation comes as a follow-up of the high-level Dutch sports & business delegation that visited Qatar in March this year and was headed by Ronald de Boer. The delegation consisted of 28 Dutch companies who will be offering a wide range of solutions to sports related activities and events starting from supply of equipment, sports management consultancy services for stadiums and sports events, design and architecture and finally to construction and infrastructure.
De Boer, who is one of the Qatar 2022 World Cup Ambassadors, has been keen on connecting Qatar to the Netherlands in a partnership framework. Continuous efforts from both countries resulted in the mutual interest to work together and exchange expertise in the fields of sports infrastructure and management.
Dutch technologies and services in the field of sports have an excellent reputation and a proven track record in various sectors, which would contribute to Qatar’s efforts in making the 2022 FIFA World Cup an exceptional event.
In September 2012 a special Taskforce 2022 was established in the Netherlands to present Dutch expertise and knowhow specifically to fit Qatar’s vision and aspirations not only for a remarkable FIFA world cup event, but for an on-going legacy.
