Hamad Hospital: providing high quality patient care |
A spokesperson said the work was meant to ensure the corporation “continues to offer the highest quality healthcare to patients in a caring, safe and responsive environment”.
The projects will be carried out over a 10-month period and have been designed to reduce interruptions to patient appointments. “Where possible, work will be conducted outside of busy periods,” the official said.
While access to all hospital services will be maintained, new routes have been planned to ensure patients, visitors and staff reach their destination in a safe and comfortable manner.
Directional signage has been carefully planned and will be placed throughout the hospitals to help patients and visitors find their way.
Over the next three weeks, work will be conducted in several hospital areas, as follows: Rumailah Hospital - A small section of corridor at the T-junction near medical records toward the entrance of the male mosque/radiology and the corridor from Al Maha to the Long Term Care Unit will be closed.
Women’s Hospital - Work will be conducted in the long corridor from the main lobby to the hallway connecting to HGH (by Labour and Delivery and waiting rooms). An alternative route to HGH has been planned.
Hamad General Hospital - In addition to the ongoing courtyard work, the section of corridor in female outpatients from the registration area to the AED-Ambulatory Care Services office will be closed. The female laboratory will be temporarily relocated to the male outpatients corridor.
HMC Managing Director Dr Hanan al-Kuwari said the work was essential to its mission to provide the highest quality patient care.
“Hamad is committed to creating an environment where patients feel they are actively playing a role in their wellbeing as well as being supported and cared for,” Dr al- Kuwari said. “In designing the renovation programme, we have worked hard to ensure there will be minimal interruption to patients, staff and visitors and the highest levels of safety will be observed at all times.
“To enable Hamad to continue as Qatar’s premier healthcare provider, we are undertaking a renovation programme for our facilities to ensure we continue to offer the highest standards in patient care.”
Hamad Medical Corporation, established by an Emiri decree in 1979, manages five highly specialised hospitals, namely, Hamad General Hospital, Rumailah Hospital, Women’s Hospital, Al Amal Hospital and Al Khor Hospital.
