A. Lange & Söhne’s Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time and The Richard Lange Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite”
Watchmaker A. Lange & Söhne strengthened its Middle Eastern presence with their participation in the 2012 edition of Doha Jewellery and Watches Exhibition, offering visitors insights into the realm of precision watchmaking.
On display for the first time in the Middle East were the Richard Lange Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite”, the Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time, and the redesigned Saxonia family. Commenting on the fair, Matthieu Dupont, Middle East Brand Manager of A. Lange & Söhne said: “We are pleased to be showcasing our expertise at Doha Jewellery and Watch Exhibition; exclusive timepieces are always in high demand across the Middle East and Qatar is no different. The fair allows us to enhance our presence in the region together with our partner Al Majed, while reinforcing our position at the forefront of precision watchmaking,”
The Richard Lange Tourbillon “Pour le Mérite” is only the fourth A. Lange & Söhne timepiece honoured with the attribute “Pour Le Mérite”, a distinction for the most complex and precise timepieces crafted in-house. It embodies a fusée-and-chain transmission as well as a one-minute tourbillon with a patented stop-seconds mechanism. On display was one of the limited platinum editions, of which only 100 exist.
The Lange Zeitwerk Striking Time is the brand’s first wristwatch that also indicates the time acoustically. It combines resonance with the unique hallmark features of its predecessor the Lange Zeitwerk, which broke ground as the world’s first mechanical numeric time reading watch in 2010. As homage to the manufactory’s homeland, the showcased Saxonia collection transports the heritage of Saxon precision watchmaking into the present day.
